After our new home project tasks last weekend we went for a nice little hike in Box Hill national trust park. As you might have guessed it is a hill, and quite a steep one, so even though we only spent little time it turned out to be a good exercise. Specially our friend C who was kind enough to carry Toddler uphill - what is extra 20 kg for a strong manly man!
(helpotukseksemme) nuo veden ylittävät kivet (eli stepping stones) olivat veden peitossa (täällä on viime aikoina satanut aika paljon...), joten jouduimme ylittämään joen ihan perinteisesti siltaa pitkin, mutta mitäs, voipi olla, että Taaperon kanssa reippaillessa olisi nuo kivien päällä hyppimiset joka tapauksessa jäänyt väliin.
There are several routes in the park for you to choose from and this time we went for the Stepping Stones route. Unfortunately (luckily) the stones were covered by water (it has been raining a lot lately here...) so we had to use the bridge to cross the river.
(jonka me tutkimme sitten jollain toisella kerralla).
Toddler, by the way, did really well, better than I expected, and walked almost the whole route except for the steep uphill at the end of the path. Even there he first said he wanted to walk but eventually the hill was too much for a little boy - it was a good calves and thighs workout even for adults, too, enough exercise for few days. But yes, you can take this route even with smaller children but they do have a route specially designed for children as well (and we will explore that some other time).
